Every Dish Has a Story: Culture, Memory, and Connection

Every Dish Has a Story is a Dignitate initiative that uses food as a powerful gateway to memory, identity, and connection. Bringing together carers, older people, and community members, the programme creates safe, culturally familiar spaces where stories are shared, relationships are strengthened, and stigma around dementia is gently reduced. By centring cultural food traditions, lived experience, and intergenerational exchange, the project supports emotional wellbeing, reduces isolation, and helps carers feel seen long before crisis point. It reflects Dignitate’s belief that prevention begins with connection - and that dignity is preserved when people are understood in the fullness of their life story.

Held on 31st May 2025, Saturday
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Part of Every Dish Has A Story

The Carer's Table

In partnership with Icon Kitchen Designs, we created a night of luxury, laughter, and connection - where cultural carers were invited to simply be cared for.

"At Dignitate, we know cultural carers often give so much of themselves, with little time to pause. That's why we created The Carer's Table - because carers deserve to be cared for too."

- Malcolm Gill, Founder
